WICKENBURG, AZ -
The Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts announces that bidding will begin on their third Art & Sold! online auction February 2. Bidding will continue via their website, www.delewebbcenter.org, through February 16. Funds raised through the auction will go to benefit the Webb Center, assisting with the presentation of their 2008-2009 series of educational programs and live performing arts events.
A wide selection of items are available for bid, including season tickets in premier seating area, Row J, an autographed Kurt Warner football, beautiful handicrafts from artisans, an autographed Emmylou Harris guitar, and the unique opportunity to meet and introduce Riders in the Sky at their March 7 concert. A complete list of the auction catalog may be found on the auction website.
The auction, which is linked from www.delewebbcenter.org, features innovative technology to assist with the bidding process and to maintain internet security. Developed by the pioneering auction group cMarket, the auction is open to everyone with internet access. Bidding is done online at ones own convenience anytime through February 16, so there is no need to buy expensive dinner tickets or travel to a specific location to participate as with traditional auctions. Registration is also completely free and private. Users can easily define maximum bids or bidding increments using the intuitive website in a safe and secure environment to fully enjoy the auction experience and win items.
“We are very thrilled about the auction,” explained Jan Heineman, Co-Chairman of Art & Sold! and Webb Center Board Member. “We have wonderful auction items that were generously donated by arts supporters. I think people will enjoy the ease of the bidding process since so many are already experienced with eBay. Now that same technology can help non-profit organizations like the Webb Center raise money to present quality arts programs for our greater community.”
The Webb Center will continually add items to the bidding block and they are still accepting donations. “Whether it is a tangible item such as a painting, or an intangible luxury, like a weekend at a time share, all donations are extremely appreciated,” explained Dita Daub, Co-Chairman of Art & Sold! and Webb Center Board Member. “Only 30% of our budget comes directly from ticket sales so innovative fundraisers like this auction will help us to continue staging magical moments.”
Be sure to check www.delewebbcenter.org regularly to follow the growing list of items and their current winning-bidders. Bidding begins on February 2 and ends on February 16. If you would like to donate an item for the Webb Center to include, please contact the Box Office at 684-6624.
